Amy is an Austin based fine artist, working mostly in acrylic and watercolors. For her paintings she draws from life, particularly places she loves in nature and human relationships. In her landscapes she plays with vibrant color and contrast. Her new work exploring abstract compositions stems from a need to express questions, emotions and prayers through her painting.
Amy began her first formal art lessons at the age of seven, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in 2D Studio Art and Art History. She taught art for six years to grades K4-12th grade, but began working on her own work again in 2013, shortly following the birth of her daughter.
