About Church of the Cross

COTC is an eight-year-old church in Northeast Austin, committed to announcing, embodying, and demonstrating the reality of the Gospel through our worship, community, and service, to the glory of God. We are a growing church and are seeking someone to help manage systems related to good financial stewardship in this season.

The Ideal Candidate

● Is detail-oriented and able to manage their time well

● Works well independently

● Has proficiency in Quickbooks and Planning Center/database programs

● Has prior experience in bookkeeping or organizational finance (nonprofit or church preferred)

Role Description

This is a part-time role that reports to the executive pastor and also works closely with the treasurer. The financial admin will oversee the day-to-day financial needs of the church, bringing overall organization to the bookkeeping processes, and will assist COTC in the wise stewarding of finances. This role does not require availability on Sundays, but it does require some time in the office each week.

Primary Responsibilities

Liaison with Decision Grid, our third party payroll and financial services team.

Meets with the finance team (3 times per year/potentially more in budget planning season May-August).

Oversees Divvy/BILL cards and budget management for the staff team.

Advise and mange process for:

  • Reimbursements, honorariums, and other payments (utilizing BILL, check payments, etc.) and requests W9s as needed.

  • Insurance reimbursement, as well as 401k contributions

  • Maintaining churchwide accounts and payments

  • Annual health insurance renewal and allowance for clergy

  • End of year giving

  • Weekly offering and other giving/deposits

Salary & Hours

Salary will be determined by the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.

This role is 10 hours per week.
