Maundy Thursday
April 2nd 6:30pm
Maundy Thursday receives its name from the commandment (mandatum) given by our Lord: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” (John 13:34). At the Last Supper, Jesus washed his disciples’ feet and commanded them to love and serve one another as he had done. Within this service we wash one another’s feet, following Christ’s example, celebrate the Eucharist meal, and experience a “descent” into darkness as the altar is stripped.
This childcare is for children who are in Pre-K or under. Children in Kindergarten and above are welcome to join their parents during the service.
