It is not uncommon for us to joke that within Anglican worship “there’s a word for that.” Sometimes there’s even an entire service!

This weekend there is opportunity to mark a few things on your Anglicanism Bingo card - The Institution of a Rector (Saturday @ 4:30PM) and Parish Meeting Vote (Sunday @ 10:15AM). If you normally attend the 9AM service, plan to stay a bit longer. If you worship at 11AM, pretend this week you attend a 10:15AM service to be present for the Parish Meeting.

All kidding aside, these are significant moments for the life of our community.

We are formed as God’s people in part through those who shepherd us.

We are formed by the words we pray and sing and declare before God and one another.

We are formed as disciples that more faithfully reflect our Lord and Teacher every time we commit ourselves to Jesus and his Body in tangible ways - through votes and amens and giving and feasting.

I am eager to be formed alongside you this weekend, to celebrate God’s provision and seek His leading in the season ahead.

Peace,

Sarah+
