Hi COTC,

We pray y’all have had a good week and that the rain has been refreshing, especially as we head toward summer in Texas.

This Sunday is Good Shepherd Sunday, and David Taylor will be preaching. Connected to his sermon, David asked that we share the prayer card pictured below, created by David and Phaedra. David will expand on the prayer card in his sermon on Sunday, so treat this as a little teaser. We also invite you to pray the collect for Good Shepherd Sunday, which you can find below, as you prepare for worship on Sunday.

As Sarah shared a couple of weeks ago in the enews in May of 2026, the founding Bishop of Churches for the Sake of Others (C4SO), Todd Hunter, is retiring after decades of faithful ministry. On April 26th, C4SO clergy and delegates selected Jeff Bailey as our Bishop Elect. You can read more about Jeff and next steps here .

We invite you to join us in prayer for Jeff, his family, and the diocese in this season of transition.

As Bishop Todd wraps up his time as our founding Bishop, he’s been hosting a podcast discussing the values of C4SO, and in the last episode of the series, he interviewed none other than our Rector, Sarah Smith. I encourage y’all to take a listen. It’s a great episode in which Sarah’s care and wisdom come through, and you get to learn a bit more about our diocese and Bishop Todd. You can listen here.

The peace of Christ,

Kimberly+
