Don’t forget, Pentecost is ahead!

Plan to stay or return after the second service for a potluck on 5/24 - sign up here!

Connection matters.

This past Sunday, Jesus called to us in John 15 to remain, to stay connected, to draw life and vitality from him. He is the vine, we are the branches.

Summer is on the horizon, and with it challenges and opportunities. Neighborhood Groups go on summer hiatus, making midweek connection irregular for a number of us. For some, life rhythms change, travel picks up, or work fluctuates.

Whether or not your particular schedule changes, as a community it can be a strange time of both activity and absence.

And yet, we desire to remain. To remain in the True Vine, as well as remaining, resting, in the Body. What might remaining connected in both the Vine and the Body this summer look like for you?

To stoke some imagination, if not provide a few tangibles, here’s a preview of some of what’s on the horizon for Church of the Cross in June:

J-Terms (June)

That’s right, they’re back in June! Pick a topic of choice and join others in Scripture, learning, conversation, and practice. After each class, we’ll close with Compline (night prayers), and then step out into the night air (what do you guess, a pleasant 80 degrees by then?).

Single-Services Begin! (6/21)

A joy of summer is that we are able to gather in a single service (10AM) from 6/21-8/16. It is not only great to worship all together, but it creates special opportunities for connecting after services (stay tuned for more on that!). We will be in the Gospel of Matthew.

Connections for Kids and Youth

COTC kids have great opportunities for friendship and formation this summer, including Creation Care Camp! If you don’t already get the updates, I encourage you to sign up here for the Garden (0-5th grade) or Youth (6th-12th graders).

May the Lord strengthen our connection with him and one another this summer!

Peace,

Sarah+
