Hi COTC!
I wanted to take a moment to reflect on our Kids Club Ministry. A little less than a year ago, as Fr Jonathan Abraham Kinderberg and his wife, Lini, relocated to Houston to continue in their work and calling with Diaspora Network and missional living, Kids Club became a more formal ministry of Church of the Cross. It’s been such a gift to see how this ministry has continued to flourish under the leadership of our missionary, Tatiana Martinez Plaza, and the faithful service of volunteers from the COTC community.
This Sunday, we will celebrate Pentecost together both in worship and with a potluck following the 11 am service. Pentecost celebrates the Church receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit to empower and mobilize it in the sharing of the Gospel. Pentecost is also a day on which we celebrate the gift of diversity and cross-cultural experiences among believers. If you’ve joined us for Kids Club, you know that both the sharing of the good news of the Gospel and a cross-cultural experience are core to the work and beauty of this ministry. Each week, Scripture is read, different languages are spoken, food is shared, and a lot of fun is had. As Kids Club heads toward celebrating its fourth anniversary this June, we want to invite y’all into three things:
If you’re not familiar with Kids Club. Learn more about it through this document.
Consider serving with Kids Club. Summer is a great time to start serving. Fill out an interest form here.
Join us in praying for the children and families connected to the ministry, as well as for Tatiana and our faithful volunteers.
PS- I wanted to share a few additional opportunities connected to missions. June 20th is World Refugee Day, and our mission partner, World Relief, has a variety of opportunities to get involved.
