This Sunday is our Fall Kick Off Potluck, and there are three things I want to invite us to consider:
Bring a Dish
First, a reminder that what you bring to the table matters. I mean that both literally and metaphorically. What you bring is not required to be fancy. Thanks be to God, value is not determined by any particular look, smell, or price tag.
There’s a spot on the table with your name on it, and we look forward to enjoying what you bring. Similarly, we hope you enjoy and are curious about what others bring to the table!
Bring a Backpack (or Two)
Second, we will be blessing backpacks during Sunday’s final single-service! If you have a student in your home, have them bring a backpack and be ready to come to the front when we normally join in the prayer for mission.
A special note, there are two brothers (an incoming 1st grader and 4th grader at Andrews Elementary) who are a part of our Kid’s Club ministry and need some last-minute help with school supplies. Here is a list of what is needed. If you are able to contribute, please put your name beside the item and bring it this Sunday! We hope to bless their backpacks in more ways than one.
Welcome our Ministry Intern!
Earlier in the summer we posted an opening for a Ministry Intern, and we are delighted to share that Hannah Neathery will be serving in this role for the year ahead! She is a wonderful addition to the team, a tenacious and servant-hearted leader who is able to combine her well-formed intellect with warmth and practical savvy. We are lucky to have her!
Learn more about Hannah here, and when you see her on Sunday say hi!
Peace,
Sarah+
