Do not be alarmed, I have not forgotten how to count! Instead, each of those numbers holds an update for our community.
9 & 11 - Two Services Resume this Sunday!
This past Sunday was a joy, and getting to feast together was a gift! At the same time, we are made acutely aware of the need for two services. If you’ve only ever known one service, it may be helpful to know that our 9AM service trends more intimate, and our 11AM service trends more exuberant. We welcome you to either, and look forward to this rhythm that allows everyone to have a seat and a chance to be known.
As we continue our 10 weeks in Ephesians this fall, what grounding, refreshing, perspective, or grace might the Lord bring to mature us and our life together? I encourage you to listen to Ephesians through your Bible app of preference - consider once a week! It takes 20 minutes, and hearing connects us to the reality that Paul’s letters were read aloud all at once in their original context.
10 - Celebrating 10 Years of COTC
Whether you helped plant the church or arrived in the past year, you are a part of the story of Church of the Cross. I want to invite you to join us in celebrating 10 years of COTC. On September 12, we’ll share a dinner as well as hear and see and bear witness to God’s presence to and through our community. Far from an event that pats ourselves on the back, this is a night to remember God’s particular activity in and among these people.
Our family stories will be told and sung and prayed. And it is in remembering together that we are given fresh eyes and fresh faith to see the days ahead. You won’t want to miss it.
Peace,
Sarah+
